Director Social Welfare Ladakh chairs meeting of Anganwadi Workers in Zanskar
Kargil,(Ladakh),October 17(Scoop News)-Director Social and Tribal Affairs Ladakh Muhammad Mumtaz Ali today convened a meeting of the concerned officers and Anganwadi Workers at Conference Hall Padum Zanskar where he reviewed the status of implementation of Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), Poshan Abhiyan and Poshan Traker schemes.
The Director also enquired about the status of Severely Acutely Malnourished (SAM), Moderately Acutely Malnourished (MAM) and Poshan Vatika and directed the workers to upload all the data on the official website as the tablets have already been issued to all the workers.
On the occasion, In Charge Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Zanskar informed the Director that 33 Anganwadi Centers have been merged with the nearby government schools out of 67 Anganwadi Centers till now.
The CDPO assured that rest of the Anganwadi Centers falling under 500 meters near schools will be shifted in the coming days.
The Director Social Welfare assured that funds for three months will be released for purchase of nutrition, adding he said that gas cylinders and stoves will also be provided to every center in due course of time.
In charge Social Welfare Officer Zanskar apprised the Director that 75 new pension cases have already been submitted to the District Social Welfare Officer Kargil for sanctioning. It was also disclosed by the Social Welfare Officer that under NSAP 424, DPS 15, WPS 34, OAP 193, PCP 187 and WID 122 beneficiaries are getting the benefit of the schemes.
Director Mumtaz Ali instructed the social workers to conduct survey and identify the deserving beneficiaries who have not been enrolled till date.
Meanwhile, the Principal Government Model Degree College Zanskar raised the issue of scholarships under minority and tribal schemes for pre-matric, post-matric and higher education.
The Director informed that the scholarships will be sanctioned after proper verification by the Nodal Officer of the institute, adding he said that a student is eligible to receive one scholarship only.
The meeting was attended by the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Zanskar Sonam Dorjay, Principal Government Model Degree College Zanskar Nassir Shabani, Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), Tehsil Social Welfare Officer , Supervisors and Social Workers.
