| Labour Department Kargil organizes awareness programme on labour welfare schemes | | Kargil, November 24 (Scoop News)-As a part of the series of events being held in the district under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Department of Labour Kargil organized a day long awareness programme on labour welfare schemes for public representatives and PRI members at Shakar Chiktan here today.
The programme was attended by the BDC Chairperson Syeda Bano, Sarpanchs, Panchs, Naib Sarpanchs, Nambardars besides the sub divisional officers.
On the occasion, Assistant Commissioner Labour (ALC) Kargil Raziya Khatoon briefed the participants about various labour welfare schemes like scholarships, medical assistance, disability assistance and other allied schemes. She also enlightened in detail about the registration of unorganized workers on the E-Shram Portal, its benefits, documents required and the process of registration on the portal.
The ALC also spoke about the labour laws and labour rights under various acts like the Payment of Wages Act and Equal Remuneration Act. This was followed by a brainstorming session wherein various questions put forth by the public representatives and PRI members were responded by the ALC Kargil. She also thanked the public representatives for sparing time to attend the programme and urged them to spread the message so that maximum labourers get themselves registered with the Labour Department to avail the benefits.
Meanwhile, the public representatives expressed gratitude to the Department of Labour for organizing the awareness programme.
Meanwhile, the ALC Kargil interacted with the BRO labourers working with road projects and imparted them awareness about different labour friendly schemes of the Department of Labour.
