| CEC Feroz Khan flags off vehicles with grocery kits | | for all sub divisions donated by Akshaya Patra Foundation | Kargil, November 24 (Scoop News)-Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan flagged off vehicles carrying 500 essential grocery boxes/ food kits for all the subdivisions of Kargil District donated by Akshaya Patra organization, during an event held at Council Secretariat Kurbathang here today.
Executive Councilor for Tourism Er Phunsok Tashi, Deputy Commissioner, and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, SDM Sankoo Ghulam Mohiuddin Wani, SDM Shakar Chiktan Muhammad Shareef Kakpori, SDM Drass Anwar Hussain, a representative from Zanskar Sub Division besides other concerned officers were present on the occasion.
During the event, CEC Feroz Ahmad Khan along with other dignitaries also distributed grocery kits among the beneficiaries of the subdivisions including Drass, Shakar-Chiktan, Sankoo and Zanskar in presence of the concerned SDMs.
CEC Khan directed the concerned officers to ensure the proper delivery of the grocery kits among the most deserving beneficiaries, i,e; those falling under the Below Poverty Line (BPL), and also obtain proper receipt after delivery.
Khan on the occasion also expressed gratitude to Akshaya Patra Foundation for its philanthropic efforts in donating the food kits among the deserving beneficiaries. He expressed hope that the organization will continue its humanitarian works in the district in future as well, and assured to extend all out support from the LAHDC Kargil for its endeavors in this regard.
Pertinently, the grocery boxes carry ingredients for two adult meals for 21 days and the initiative has been taken by the Akshaya Patra Foundation under the COVID-19 Relief Feeding Programme.
