| Provincial President Jammu Province SC Cell facilitated newly nominated District Presidents | |
Jammu, November 25 (Scoop News)-Provincial President Jammu Province SC Cell Mr Vijay Lochan today facilitated newly nominated District Presidents at Sher I Kashmir Bhawan Jammu in the presence of Provincial President J&K National Conference Mr Rattan Lal Gupta and Babu Rampaul Zone President.
While addressing the workers Mr Rattan Lal Gupta said that National Conference is committed to uplift the SC, OBC and ST in J&K. High command is fully supporting of their issues and it will ensure that these are addressed in all odd circumstances, he added.
He congratulated newly nominated office bearers and assured them full support from the party to mitigate the issues of this class.
After facilitating the District Presidents the workers organized impressive protest displaying play cards showing demands of the SC Samaj. The main demands are as under:-
Implementation of Reservation in promotion, price hike and atrocities on scheduled caste, Reservation in promotion struck down by J&K High Court on 9th Oct, 2015. Then J&K govt failed to protect reservation Act 2004. The SC/St organizations as private party approached hon’ble Apex Court and Hon’ble Court gave status Quo which was misinterpreted by the bureaucrats of J&K. Even stay order was misinterpreted by J&K bureaucrats.
The bureaucrats of J&K UT have sabotaged the matter of reservation in promotion for SC/ST. Mr Lochan also said that on 1st March, 2019 Presidential order was passed extending 77th constitutional amendment to J&K which was not implemented even during Presidential Rule in J&K. The bureaucrats are not complying even presidential order. He further said that price hike during BJP regime has disturbed the budget of kitchen of common man. The prices of cooking oil, LPG cylinder, Petrol/ Diesel and items have gone so high that survival of poor people have become very difficult. It is worthwhile to mention here that atrocities on scheduled castes have increased after the abrogation of Article of 370 and 35A but SC/ST (Prevention of atrocities) Act is not implemented in letter and spirit.
