DC Shopian Inspects under construction Transit Accommodation Site For Tribal Population, Migrant Pandits
Shopian, May 14 (Scoop News)- The Deputy Commissioner,
Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today inspected the ongoing works on Transit Accommodation Site for Tribal Population being constructed by WildLife department on Mughal Road, near Peer Ki Gali.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmed Simnani, Divisional Forest Officer, (DFO) and Wildlife Warden and other Senior officers of forest and other allied departments accompanied the Deputy Commissioner during the visit.
During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner took a comprehensive review of construction work of Transit Accommodation Site for Tribal Population, repairing of road at various locations including the site near Lal Ghulam Bridge.
While inspecting the site, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned executing agency to speed up the pace of work on the project on war-footed basis to ensure it's completion within the shortest possible time and also gear up men and machinery for completing the project in stipulated time frame.
Vaishya asked for ensuring productive and fruitful utilization of the available resources for the area.
The Deputy Commissioner was satisfied at the level of improvement of Mughal Road and said that the condition of Mughal Road has improved significantly causing great relief to common masses who are visiting Peer Ki Gali off and on especially tribal population.
Vaishya also paid obeisance at Ziarat- i -Sharief Peer Ki Gali in Shopian district and appealed the visitors there to contribute in preserving the fragile ecology of Peer ki Gali and impressed upon the concerned for keeping the surroundings of Ziarat- Sharief neat and clean and avoiding throwing of polythene on road sides.
The Deputy Commissioner issued instructions to the concerned for making a comprehensive plan for beautification and face lifting of Peer ki Gali including Ziarat Sharief.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner also inspected the Transit Accommodation Site for Kashmiri Pandits at Keegam, constructed by PWD (R&B) Division Shopian at an estimated cost of Rs.23.04 Crores.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed upon the concerned executing agency to complete the developmental works within time limits.
Enroute, Deputy Commissioner met several public delegations who put forth various developmental issues of public importance.
He listened to them patiently and assured that all their genuine issues would be addressed in a time bound manner.
Tehsildar, Keegam and other concerned officers and engineers were present.
