| Police arrests 04 person and seizes 03 vehicles and a JCB in Budgam | |
Srinagar, May 20 (Scoop News)-Acting tough against the elements involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, Police in Budgam have arrested four persons and seized 03 vehicles and a JCB involved in the commission of crime.
Police parties from Police Station Budgam at various checkpoints established in their jurisdiction intercepted 03 tippers loaded with illegally extracted clay Near FCI Chandpora, Patlibagh & Chandpora Crossing respectively. The trippers bearing registration numbers JK04-7552, JK01P-3573 and JK01AG-7743 were seized and drivers identified as Younis Ahmad Qazi son of Ghulam Ahmad Qazi resident of Watriwani, Showkat Ahmad Baba son of Ghulam Hassan Baba resident of Khadipora and Gulzar Ahmad Beigh son of Abdul Razzak Beigh resident of Khadipora were arrested.
Similarly, officers from Police Station Beerwah seized a JCB and arrested a driver for illegally extraction of soil at Hardumalpora Beerwah. He has been identified as Balvinder Singh son of Kulwant Singh resident of Jungal Bawani Gurdaspur Punjab.
In this regard, cases under relevant sections of law stands registered at respective police stations and investigation have been initiated.
Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
