Agnipath scheme an attempt to ruin the future of youth: NC

Jammu, June 18 (Scoop News)- J&K National Conference on Saturday expressed dismay over BJP governments proposed Agnipath scheme which entails a recruitment process for youngsters on four year contracts and said that the scheme will inevitably ruin the future of youth aspiring to join the Indian Army.
While extending support to the protesting aspirants of CEE Exam for recruitment into Indian Army, in a joint statement the party leadership including Rattan Lal Gupta Provincial President Jammu, Ajay Kumar Sadhotra Central Secretary, Ch. Liaquet Ali Central Secretary, Sheikh Bashir Ahmed Provincial Secretary, Jugal Mahajan, Babu Rampal Central Zone President, Javed Ahmed Rana Zone President Pir Panjal, Abdul Gani Malik Zone President Reasi Udhampur, Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo Zone President Chenab Valley, Brij Mohan Sharma Vice President, Surinder Singh Bunty Vice President, Dr Gagan Bhagat Dy Chief Spokesperson, Ajaz Jan Provincial President YNC, Bimla Luthra former MLA, Additional Spokespersons Zeeshan Rana, Th. Yashu Vardhan Singh, Vijay Lochan Provincial President SC Cell, Abdul Gani Teli Provincial President OBC Cell, Dinesh Singh Chouhan Provincial President Legal Cell, Nar Singh Provincial President Labor Wing Satwant Kour Dogra Provincial President Women Wing, , Vijay Laxmi Dutta, Deepinder Kour Ex-MLC, Pardeep Bali said that the BJP led union Government is playing with the future of the youth of country.
“These aspirants have applied for the posts of General Duty in Indian Army in 2020 following which their physical examination was conducted along with the Medical examination but their written examination was not conducted even after two years,” the statement said.
Terming the unfolding events across the country as unfortunate, the leaders said, “Youth across the country are on roads protesting against the proposed scheme as the aspirants were waiting for their written examination. They were shocked to know that that recruitment process got cancelled & that the government announced that these youth would be unrolled under this new scheme Agnipath.”
The leaders asserted that the youth, who had been waiting for Army recruitment for the past two years, are disappointed and shocked by this short-term plan of the government to recruiting them in the Army. “Jammu province like other areas has been a proud contributor of men to Indian Army. Scores of our youngsters have laid down their lives for the country but this scheme has disillusioned people here as well. Union BJP government should not play with the sentiments as well as future of the youth of Jammu and Kashmir who are already facing lot of problems as far as employment avenues are concerned.”
The statement further said, “This action plan of contract-based recruitment in the forces was not in any way in the interest of people of the country and the Indian Army.” The leaders demanded that the written examination of these protesting aspirants must be conducted as per the 2020 notification and the new Agnipath scheme must be withdrawal at the earliest.
Meanwhile Additional Spokesperson Th Yashu Vardhan along with Jatinder Singh Chib, Jatin Bhat and other party workers satged protested against the proposed Agnipath scheme at Sunderbani. Later the protestors submitted memorandum in the SDM office saying that this action plan of contract-based recruitment in the forces was not in any way in the interest of people of the country and the Indian Army.
