Commissioner Secretary visits Poonch, reviews functioning of Revenue department
Poonch, June 18 (Scoop News)- Commissioner Secretary, Revenue, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, today visited Poonch and chaired a meeting to review functioning of Revenue Department in the district.
Deputy Commissioner, Poonch, Inder Jeet, presented a detailed description about the activities and achievements of the department in the district.
During the meeting, a detailed discussion was held on status of writing of Jamabandis, change in land use, retrieval of state and Kahcharai land, functioning of Patwar Khanas, progress made under delineation besides issues related to development works were also deliberated upon.
Addressing the officers, Commissioner Secretary underlined the priorities of the government like digitization of Jamabandies, online delivery of various revenue services and other public friendly initiatives especially online portals and e-services recently started by the government to bring transparency and accountability in the department.
While taking stock of online revenue services being provided to the general public, Commissioner Secretary was informed that a number of revenue services are being provided to the general public through online mode like Apki Zameen Apki Nigrani and other such digital initiatives.
Commissioner Secretary asked the concerned officers to ensure that online services are provided to the public timely so that they don't have to visit revenue offices on this account.
While seeking status of writing of Jamabandis, the meeting was informed that the Jamabandis for the Dour 2014-18 are complete while for the Dour 2018-22, work is in progress.
Commissioner Secretary stressed on ensuring speedy disposal of all the files regarding the change in land use.
Reviewing the status of government land retrieved so far, it was informed that 113217 Kanal of State land has been retrieved as on May 2022.
Similarly, Commissioner Secretary was also briefed about the status of Kahcharai land retrieved, so far. He asked the officers to speed up the illegal encroachment removal drive and erect documentary evidences on the government land to avoid illegal encroachment.
Regarding functioning of Patwar Khanas, the meeting was informed that all Patwar Khanas have been made functional in the district and revenue services are being provided to the general public at the doorsteps.
Discussing progress made under delineation, it was informed that total villages intended to be surveyed are 178, of which, 36 villages have been surveyed, so far.
Moreover, issues impeding the development projects like Government Degree Colleges were also discussed in detail wherein Commissioner Secretary passed necessary instructions to the concerned officers to take effective measures to resolve the existing bottlenecks so that execution of projects shall not be delayed.
ADC Poonch, Dr. Basharat Hussain, SDM Surankote, Naheem Un Nissa Bhatti, ACR Poonch, Zaheer Ahmed Kaifi, SDM Mendhar, Jahangir Khan, DIO IT, Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars and other revenue officials participated in the meeting.
