Acting CEC distributes Home Stay kits to beneficiaries in Kargil
Kargil, June 25 (Scoop News)- Acting CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Mohisn Ali today distributed Home Stay kits to selected beneficiaries under New Home Stay policy here at Gandhi Park Baroo, Kargil.
Executive Councilor for Social Welfare and Animal Husbandry, LAHDC, Kargil Aga Syed Mehdi Fazily, Chief Planning Officer (CPO) Abdul Hadi, Assistant Director Tourism Syed Toha Agha, Accounts Officer to Director Tourism Shamim Ahmad, Assistant Tourist Officer Kargil Ghulam Rasool Lal besides huge gathering and beneficiaries were present on the occasion.
On the occasion, the Acting CEC thanked the Tourism Department Kargil for procuring the home stay kits and said it will go a long way to generate revenue, and employment.
He said promoting tourism is a coordinated effort of all the departments and LAHDC Kargil is committed to promoting tourism to create employment opportunities for local youth.
Mohsin said it is for the first time that Home Stay policy has been started in Kargil and appealed to the home stay owners to take maximum benefit of the scheme.
The Acting CEC, EC Aga Syed Mehdi Fazily in presence of the officers, officials distributed home stay kits to the first batch of beneficiaries besides gave them registration certificates.
On the occasion, AD Tourism Kargil Aga Syed Toha said promoting tourism is the dream project of Union Territory of Ladakh for which the Home Stay policy has been introduced.
He said the policy is aimed to promote tourism, strengthen the accommodation, promote local food and culture, tradition and involve people for employment generation.
The AD said at the Home Stays, tourists coming to Ladakh and Kargil will get local taste and besides accommodation in traditional style.
He said Kargil is an important tourist attraction and there is a need of collective efforts from all stakeholders to further push the tourism industry. The AD said home stay kits includes 18 different items like dinner set, matting and other necessary items for one room.
He said around 275 homestay owners of Kargil were identified to provide the kits. He said today they distributed the kits to first batch while others will be given in coming days.
The AD Tourism requested the home stay owners to use the kits with honesty and sincerity.
AD Tourism thanked Tourism Department UT Ladakh, LAHDC Kargil and District Administration Kargil and other departments for making the program successful.
Meanwhile, the beneficiaries thanked LAHDC Kargil, District Administration and Tourism Department for providing them training and kits for their betterment.
