Rattan Lal slams Govt for neglecting burning issues of border residents


Jammu, August 08 (Scoop News)- Senior J&K National Conference leader and Party’s Jammu Provincial President, Rattan Lal Gupta has lambasted the Govt for neglecting the border residents who are craving even for the very basic necessities.



Mr Gupta stated this during a public meeting held at Khour under the chairmanship of Mr Raghubir Singh, National Conference District President Jammu Rural A. He was the Chief Guest on the occasion while prominent among others present on the occasion were senior NC leader and former minister Ajay Kumar Sadhotra former Minister and State Secretary,Vijay Lochan P.P SC Cell, Ram Pal Central Zone President, Kuldeep, Master Baldev Bhau, District Presidents and Block Presidents besides a large number of people of the area.

The people from all walks of life attending the party’s public meeting narrated their respective tales of woes due to which they are living in quite miserable conditions. The people of this border belt complained that they are not getting regular drinking water and power supply which is utmost necessity in border areas especially when you have mischievous neighbour across the border. Moreover, the border road network in the areas is far less than adequate, they added. They demanded that there should be a double lane road from Jourian to Khour so that the flow of traffic is smooth and hassle free for the people. These border residents also expressed dismay over the status of recruitment rally for border youth in belt forces, besides lamenting over the cancellation of Border Battalion Posts.

After giving them a patient hearing, Rattan Lal Gupta assured them that he would make every effort to get their issues resolved at the earliest.

The senior NC leader said that it is really painful to witness the insensitive attitude towards the people living close to borders as they are bereft of the very basic necessities without which survival is almost impossible. He lambasted the BJP Govt at the Centre and the J&K UT Administration for only making tall claims as is evident from the ground situation in this border area.

Rattan Lal slammed the Govt for neglecting the border residents and betraying them on every issue. He said that post abrogation of Art 370 the miseries of border dwellers have increased manifold as BJP Govt failed to fulfil promises made to the border residents.

Ajay Sadhotra in his address on the occasion said that youth of border area have been affected the most due to anti-youth policies of the Govt. He said that cancellation of recruitment of border Battalion aspirants rather selectees left them in lurk and bleak future. He accused the Govt of lowering the morale of border youth. He also criticized the Agnipath Scheme launched by the Modi Govt and termed it as the most cruel joke cracked on the youth as well as the defence forces of the nation.
