| Kavita Paudwal enthralled the audience at devotional song competition | |
Katra,September 30 (Scoop News)-All India Devotional Song Competition as part of Navratra Festival in its Fifth day began today at Yog Ashram Complex in the evening by lighting of the traditional lamp, wherein renowned film Industry singer Kavita Paudwal was the Chief Guest and Yog Acharya Swami Yoga Nand ji Maharaj ,Chairman All Devotional Song Committee & President Hotel Association Katra Rakesh Wazir, Assistant Director Tourism Amika Bali,Former winner of AIDSC Vanshika Jaral etc. were prominently present
In the 5th day of the competition Aseem Sharma from Jammu took Ist Position and got its entry into Semi Final to be held on 3rd Oct. whereas Meenu Atwal from Punjab stood 2nd and 3rd position was shared by Chandan Kumar & Rahul Laknotra both from Jammu shared 3rd position jointly and got their entry into quarter final to be held on 2nd Oct. and were provided with the cash prizes of 10,000/- , 5,000/-and 3,000/-.respectively.In today’s competition 11 auditioned participants participated in which 4 were from out side the state.
Celebrity singer Kavita Paudwal who is known for singing devotional songs and has released around 40 music albums including Gayatri Mantra,Krishna,Lakshmi and Amrutvani is singining devotional songs since 1995 besides being a big name as play back singer in films,mesmerised the audience with her melodious songs .It is worth while to mention here that her mother Anuradha Paudwal too is a great singer and she too besides having a good name as play back singer for films had good command over devotional songs.
Former winner of the AIDSC Vanshika Jaral too gave her performace during the event and people were seen dancing on her tunes.
The Devotional Song Competition auditions were adjudged by the panels of experts in music including Dr.Surinder Kumar Sharma HOD Govt. Degree College Sunni Shimla and Dr.C L Verma Ex.Chairman Post Graduate University of Himachal Pradesh.
The proceeding of Competition was conducted by Sh. Rakesh Wazir who is also the Chairman of the said Competition who while speaking on the occasion said that top Media & film personalities have already given their consent to be there in the panel of judges for final including Former Chairman Central Board of Film Certification Pahlaj Nihalani,Managing Director Venus Records & Tapes ltd.Ganesh Jain,Film maker Gordhan Tanwani,Managing Director Times Music and film maker Parveen Shah,Film Trade Analyst Kumar Mohan,Film maker Rishi Raj will be there in panel of judges.
The Grand finale of the All India Devotional Song Competition will be held on 4th of Oct. and Winners will be awarded with gold amounting to Rs. 3 Lakh and a recording contract with Venus Records &Tapes ltd and likewise the runners ups will get 01 lac and 50,000/- respectively.
