Santosh Kumar joins as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), NHPC | | Jammu/Srinagar,December 09, (Scoop News)- Santosh Kumar, Indian Forest Service (IFS) has joined as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), NHPC. Prior to joining NHPC, Shri Santosh Kumar holding the post of Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (APCCF), Chief Wildlife Warden, Goa and MD, Goa Forest Development Corporation. Shri Santosh Kumar possesses vast, rich and varied experience across a broad range of disciplines and areas of work that would greatly benefit NHPC. Shri Kumar has worked in various States & Union Territories in various capacities including Divisional Forest Officer, Banderdeva Forest division and Director Tourism, Arunachal Pradesh; DCF & Member Secretary, Pollution Control Committee and Director (IT and Science & Tech.), UT Administration of Daman, Diu & Dadra Nagar Haveli; DCF (Planning & Statistics), Govt. of Goa; Chief Conservator of Forests, Chief Wildlife Warden, Director (Environment) & Director (Science & Technology and Renewable Energy), Chandigarh and CEO of Chandigarh Renewal Energy, Science & Technology Promotion Society (CREST). Under his leadership, UT of Chandigarh had taken a giant step forward and emerged as a leading Solar City of the country. The Govt. of India awarded two National Excellence Awards 2016 to Chandigarh including for being best Solar City of the country and for best performing Nodal Agency for Renewable Energy among UTs and special category states. He has handled diverse portfolio of Forests, Environment, Tourism, Information Technology, Renewable Energy etc. in various States & UTs. He has travelled widely in Countries like USA, Germany, France, Finland, Denmark, Morocco and Russia, etc., where he got rich experience of forest and renewable energy administrations being followed in different countries. Shri Santosh Kumar, IFS (AGMUT 1993) is a Mechanical Engineering Graduate from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (1988-1992) and holds M.Tech degree in Thermal Engineering from Banaras Hindu University-IIT (IIT-BHU), a premier engineering college.
