CSIR-IIIM incubator honored with ‘J&K SEED Startup Enabler Award’

Jammu, March 18 (Scoop News)- Council of Scientific & Industrial Research-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM) -Technology Business Incubator, Jammu is honored with “J&K SEED Startup Enabler Award” for supporting the startup ecosystem in Jammu & Kashmir. The first J&K Start-up Event for Entrepreneurial Development (SEED-1) was organized by MIET in collaboration with FICCI FLO JK&L to celebrate the spirit of entrepreneurship & startup culture in the UT of Jammu & Kashmir. Dr. Saurabh Saran, Principal Scientist CSIR-IIIM, Jammu & Principal Investigator, IIIM- Technology Business Incubator and Er. Ankush Varma, Coordinator, IIIM-Technology Business Incubator were felicitated with the award by Mr. Ajaz Ahmad Bhat (IAS), Director JKEDI,Kr. Ritu Singh, Founding Chairperson FICCI FLO JK&L & Prof Ankur Gupta, Director, MIET during the ceremony held at MIET College, Jammu.
While presenting the award lecture,, Dr.Saran,Principal Scientist, CSIR-IIIM, Jammu informed the august gathering about the work taken by the incubator in promoting startup ecosystem in the UT of Jammu & Kashmir. He informed that 82 startup companies have registered with the IIIM-TBI since 2018 as inhouse, virtual and outside incubates whereas 15 inhouse incubates of IIIM-TBI have reached to the product development stage and out of which 5 startup companies have successfully completed the product development cycle and launched their products in the market. Er. Ankush Varma, Coordinator, IIIM-TBI emphasized that IIIM Incubator is committed to creating awareness among the local population of Jammu & Kashmir by promoting a biotech based startup ecosystem.
CSIR-IIIM under the leadership of Director, IIIM is continuously conducting various road shows, awareness programs, city camps, hackathons in the region. The specialized incubator is also organizing startup expos from time & again to outreach local people including youth, farmers, women, budding entrepreneurs and help them to meet their dreams by launching their products in the market. The overall purpose of IIIM-TBI is to generate jobs & create wealth in the Jammu & Kashmir region. Earlier, Prof Ankur Gupta, Director, MIET, welcomed the dignitaries, startups, entrepreneurs & students for participating in the event.


As per direction received from WARB HQr, MHA, Govt of India and Dte Genl.CRPF,New Delhi, 1st quarterly meeting of WARB for the year 2023 organized in GC campus CRPF Jammu on 18/03/2023. WARB HQr New has appointed DIGP,GC,CRPF, Jammu as District Welfare officer for the welfare of retired CAPF personnel, Veer Nari and dependent of paramilitary force who are residing in District-Jammu, Poonch and Rajauri.
On inauguration of the WARB meeting Sh. Rakesh Sethi DIG, welcome the serving/retired personnel, Veer Nari and dependent present on this occasion. He said that we all are fortunate to be a part of this elite force and are leading a prosperous life today. He also said that even after retirement we should not leave a organized life style. After retirement you have a lot of time and you can use it to maintain your health and live a happy life.
Thereafter retired personnel, Veer Nari and dependents have introduced themselves and submitted their problems and suggestion. Suggestion and personal problems related to GC Jammu has been disposed off on the spot and other complaints related to other offices same forwarded to concerned offices for disposal.
On this occasion Sh. Rajesh Kumar Dy. Comdt. GC,CRPF, Jammu apprised the retired personnel, Veer Nari and dependent with welfare policies/schemes received from WARB HQrs. While addressing the retired personnel, Veer Nari and dependent he said that their views are important for future reforms in Central Paramilitary Forces. He also assured the retired personnel, Veer Nari and dependent that this GC is always ready to extend you all the possible help. After the programme lunch was arranged for retired personnel, Veer Nari and dependent.
Above programme was organized under the able leadership of Sh. Naresh Kumar Yadav, DIGP, in which Sh. Rakesh Sethi DIG, Shri P.C. Gupta (Commandant), Sh. Rajesh Kumar (Dy. Comdt.), Shri Sumit Verma (Dy. Comdt.), Shri Charan Singh Dy.Comdt./Min., Sh. Rajesh Kumar Asstt.Comdt. Sh. Arun Kumar Uniyal Asstt. Comdt., Sh. Jaswinder Asstt.Comdt./Min., Sh. Pawan Choudhary, Bank Manager, SBI Bantalab, and other Gazetted Officers, Subordinate Officers and Jawans also lend their support.
