Forging Ahead: IIT Jammu Engineering an Education Revolution : Priya Sethi

Jammu, May 25 (Scoop News)-The Indian Institute of Technology Jammu (IIT Jammu) at Jagti campus had the privilege of hosting esteemed members from the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Mahila Morcha.
Led by Priya Sethi, the former Minister of State in the Government of Jammu & Kashmir,and Dr Ashwariya Biswal, National Secretary of BJP Mahila Morcha, the team visited IIT Jammu's Jagti campus. Accompanying them were Savita Anand, Chakshu Kapoor, Chanda Kerni, Reema Padha, Anita Gandotra, Suman Raina, Geetanjali Mahajan, and Neeru Anand.
The visit commenced with a warm welcome extended by Prof Anurag Misra, Dean of Infrastructure Planning and Management (IPM) at IIT Jammu. Prof. Misra provided an overview of the institute and its journey thus far, highlighting significant achievements. "It has been a remarkable journey, and we are committed to making meaningful contributions to the nation's development," added Prof Misra.
Following a brief interaction, the Mahila Morcha team was presented with sustainably developed souvenirs and Basohli Paintings as tokens of appreciation. These artworks were created by women self-help groups from the Jammu region under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan initiative at IIT Jammu.
Subsequently, the team engaged in a productive dialogue with female students from IIT Jammu, facilitated by Priya Sethi and Dr. Ashwariya Biswal. The team expressed delight in witnessing the diverse representation from across India. During the interaction, students shared their visions for India and their aspirations to promote India's ancient value system. Gurkeerat, a first-year student from Punjab, stated, "I want to inspire people to adopt the ancient value system of India." Dr Biswal motivated the students with personal and professional anecdotes, encouraging them to persevere and move forward.
The Mahila Morcha team then visited the Institute's Workshop and Tinkering Lab, where they interacted with students and were briefed on the ongoing initiatives undertaken by students to find solutions to real-world problems.
Dr Dhartri Rath, Dr Archana Rajput, Cdr Avinash Barthwal, Purvi Sarkar, Shrikarshan Pareek, Lt Cdr Mannu Virk, and Daksh Dev from IIT Jammu facilitated the campus tour for the entire Mahila Morcha team.
The interaction with the students and the comprehensive campus tour proved to be fruitful, fostering meaningful exchanges of ideas and insights.
