World Environment Day: DLSA Srinagar organizes Door-to-Door campaign
Raises awareness about the importance of environmental conservation

Srinagar, June 05 (Scoop News)-On the occasion of World Environment Day, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar, under the guidance of Chairman Jawad Ahmad today organized a Door-to-Door campaign to spread awareness about the importance of environmental conservation.
The initiative witnessed active participation of para-legal volunteers, law students, defence counsels of LADC office Srinagar and dedicated penal lawyers, and citizens all united in their commitment to promote environmental consciousness.
The campaign was a thoughtful endeavor to raise awareness about environmental issues, educate the community on sustainable practices, and inspire collective action for a greener future.
A Legal awareness programme and plantation drive was also organised at the office of DLSA Srinagar in which staff members as well as Pro Bono Law students and PLVs Deputed at the district court complex Srinagar participated.
With meticulous planning and unwavering dedication, the volunteers and lawyers meticulously charted out their routes to visit various neighborhoods across Srinagar. Armed with knowledge about environmental laws and an unyielding desire to make a difference, they engaged in meaningful conversations with residents to spread awareness about the importance of environmental conservation.
They emphasized the significance of preserving natural resources, reducing pollution, waste management, and adopting eco-friendly practices. The campaign also shed light on legal provisions related to environmental protection and how individuals could contribute to safeguarding the environment within the framework of the law.
The Door-to-Door Campaign received an overwhelming response from the citizens of Srinagar. The residents appreciated the proactive efforts of DLSA Srinagar and its volunteers in addressing environmental concerns at the grassroots level. The campaign served as a catalyst for change, inspiring individuals and communities to take ownership of their ecological footprint and make conscious choices in their daily lives to protect the environment.
Chairman DLSA Srinagar, Jawad Ahmad expressed his deep appreciation for the Para-Legal volunteers, Penal Lawyers, law students and the citizens of Srinagar for their wholehearted participation in this significant campaign. He highlighted the crucial role of legal awareness in environmental conservation and commended the collective efforts in creating a sustainable future for generations to come.
Secretary DLSA Srinagar, Jahangir Ahmad Bakshi emphasized the importance of community engagement and reaffirmed DLSA Srinagar's commitment to making legal services easily accessible and comprehensible to all sections of society.



Doda district all set to take great leap forward in taping ecotourism potential
DC inaugurates Tent village; hiking, camping & adventure site in Bhaderwah
BHADERWAH, June 05 (Scoop News)-District Doda is all set to take a great leap forward in realizing the abundant potential of eco and adventure tourism.
Considered as a lucrative source of employment and income generation, the district administration is embarking on a majestic plan to explore and push ecotourism activities for socioeconomic development of the local communities.
In a step forward in this direction, A Jungle World, Tent Village; Hiking, Camping & Adventure site has been established in the picturesque Chinta valley- half way along the Bhaderwah to Jai Valley road.
The site was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner, Vishesh Mahajan in presence of ADC Bhaderwah, Chowdhary Dil Mir; CPO, Suresh Kumar; ACD, Phulail Singh, other officers and guests.
While interacting with the local media, the DC informed that the district administration is looking for young entrepreneurs who are interested to pitch in for creating a world-class tourism infrastructure to attract tourists from across the world.
“The Nature has bestowed the region with the best of its beauty, and the need is to protect, conserve, and showcase nature at its best to the world. The administration is ready for every kind of support to young entrepreneurs promoting tourism for livelihood,” he added.
Explaining further, he said several government schemes are available to finance their ideas and earn them dignified livelihood. The eco -tourism needs to be promoted with the best services along with traditional blend and essential infrastructure. The growth in eco tourism will push the overall economy of the district, he added.
