BJP busy in celebrations, people of J&K suffering on all counts: Bhalla
BJP Govt misleading nation with claim of normalcy in J&K: Mulla Ram

Jammu, September 17 (Scoop News)-Congress Rajni Bala Corporator Ward -60 today inaugurated bathrooms and sitting arrangements with proper sheds at graveyard in Upper Paloura Ward -60 in presence of JKPCC Working President Raman Bhalla, former Ministers Mula Ram, Yogesh Sawhney ,former PYC President Uday Bhanu Chib , President DCC Jammu Rural Hari Singh Chib, Som Nath Sharma President BCC Pata Paloura, Uttam Singh former Corporator. The funds for construction of bathrooms was granted by Smt Ambika Soni , MP Rajya Sabha.Prominent among those present on the occasion include Youth President Jammu North Assembly Sunil Singh, Nazir Ahmad, Shahbaj Ahmad Gullu, Barkat Ali, Mumtaz, Parveen Akhtar, Raj Bibi, Veena Devi, Surinder Kumar, Jung Bahadur Singh, Billa, Gulam Ahmad, Aju, Krishan Kumar, Pummy Manhas, Dayal Singh, Harbans Kumar, Dev Raj, Dr Chander Mohan Sharma, Krishan Chand, Parshotam Singh President BCC Bhalwal besides others.

Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla said GOI has failed to address the legitimate aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, saying that words alone won’t suffice to improve the situation on the ground. He said BJP Govt has failed to live up to the spirit of accommodation and reconciliation towards realization of the legitimate political aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Today democracy in J&K is facing onslaughts from no other than the ruling party itself. Ideally the political and ideological difference should have been put aside while dealing with the sensitive region like that of ours. The major stress of the government should have been to assuage the miseries of our unemployed youth who regrettably have grown up in conflict. The need of the hour called for the adoption of a magnanimous approach to give our youth a new hope and rescue them to safe shores, but nothing substantial is being done by the incumbent central and LG government to achieve that end,” he said.

Bhalla said compelling narratives of progress, modernity and development justifying its unconstitutional actions in J&K have fallen flat and that the aggressive policies of ruling BJP towards the region have hurt its development path and its economy,” he said adding that ruling BJP was on a mission to disenfranchise J&K people with its selective policies and a coterie of federally appointed officers, bereft of democratic bearings, calling the shots. “The so-called Naya J&K of BJP, besides being low on the democratic mooring is also opposite to the idea of Naya Kashmir propounded by Congress govt. The downpour of fresh investments, job extravaganza, and infrastructure amplification is nowhere visible on the ground. Far from delivering on much-touted development promises, the people of J&K are continuously being denied their rights, having a popular government in place is one of them,” he added.

Bhalla observed that BJP by imposing their agenda on the country’s agenda, they have done much harm to the country than to J&K. Today we see top BJP members make lofty promises on development. How can people trust them given the fact they are the ones who deprived people of J&K of their identity. It is needless to say that due to their wrong decisions, the picture of the entire region looks grim. The ruling BJP’s record in J&K reveals a mounting set of failures on every front ranging from employment generation, investment, infrastructure augmentation. The situation of artisans, hoteliers, marginal traders, and agriculturalists is also very disappointing; the entire lot is at the brink of starvation,” he said.He said the GOI’s policy towards Jammu and Kashmir must encapsulate all dimensions with peace building efforts at the heart of it. He also said unless a positive environment wasn’t actualized by addressing the political aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir achieving anticipated development goals was unlikely.

Mulla Ram slamming the BJP Government for misleading the nation with the claim of normalcy in J&K, expressed concern over the fresh wave of terror attacks across the Union Territory (UT).Expressing concern over the killing of innocent people and security personnel, senior Congress leader criticized the BJP-led Central government for claiming that terrorism has ended in Jammu and Kashmir. “While the government is beating the trumpet of normalcy in J&K, why are encounters and killings still happening? This is a big tragedy for us and it seems unending,” stated Mulla Ram. Former Minister noted that there was a stark difference between the normalcy claims of the BJP government and the ground reality in Jammu and Kashmir. Encounters have started in Rajouri and other places where terrorism was wiped off during our regime. He accused the Centre of misleading people on the ground situation here.He was critical of Prime Minister Narendra Modi by saying that when the whole country was in grief, the screams of the families of the martyrs were tearing everyone’s heart. Then the insensitive Prime Minister of this country was busy campaigning in Madhya Pradesh and asking for votes”.

Yogesh Sawhney speaking on the occasion said that the BJP Government has deeply disappointed the people of Jammu again and again. Every section is under stress and pressure from the various failures of this Government. He said people are protesting for lack of basic facilities. He further claimed that men, women and students, poor and middle class, all sections are not happy. Yogesh Sawhney urged fellow attendees to face matters head on and take critical issues into their hands. He said that Congress leaders will work to create awareness among public and provide help wherever possible especially by urging the government to open its eyes towards its own blunders. Sawhney further claimed that economic situation, too, is heartbreaking.Ridiculing the BJP for celebrating development in a big way at a time of crisis in J&K, he said it is like rubbing salt on the wounds of Jammu people. People are asking questions about false promises of BJP leaders on uprooting toll plazas", and are against non-serious leaders of J&K BJP who have failed to come up-to the expectations of the people. There was a feeling among people that BJP leaders betrayed the people on many issues.

Hari Singh Chib and Udey Bhanu Chib speaking on the occasion said that dismantling of Jammu and Kashmir's edifice into two separate Union territories was criticized as a blatantly unilateral decision. They said not even a single drop of 20 lakh crore packages reached to J&K. They asked the UT administration to come up with a pragmatic mechanism to address all the issues in tandem with the sentiments and emotions of the people of Jammu and Kashmir."Absence of any authorized Government declaration on these sensitive issues coupled with rhetorical statements and assurances by Jammu-based BJP leaders on policy matters bereft of any constitutional authority have lead to confusion and created apprehensions and misgivings in the minds of the locals of J&K particularly the youth," they said.

Corporator Rajni Bala in her address said that the claims of the Centre on bridging development deficit and creating employment opportunities in Jammu and Kashmir had rung hollow. She said that “good governance” in J&K was “confined to papers only” and that the ground situation belies all the claims of the administration. She said that the J&K administration was indulging in extensive window dressing to hide its failures.“People are suffering on different counts ranging from inflation, development deficit, rising unemployment, and administrative inertia,” she said.“Much touted govt jobs for youth, infrastructure augmentation, incentivising entrepreneurship, a comprehensive package for tourism, horticulture and handicraft sectors continues to remain a far-fetched dream.”
