DPAP urges CS to handover Siot Kalakote Road to GRIEF
Jammu, September 22 (Scoop News)-Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) delegation led by former Legislator Ashok Sharma Working Committee Member and Vice President Jammu Province met the Chief Secretary J&K Shri AK Mehta IAS in Civil Secretariat Jammu today.
The delegation submitted a memorandum for handing over Siot to Kalakote 22km Road to GRIEF and double Lanning of the same.
Mr Ashok Sharma apprised the Chief Secretary that double Lanning of the road was sanctioned under Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA) 2006-07 under Prime Minister Package when Ghulam Nabi Azad was Chief Minister.
NIT was floated and a local construction company of Mr Sanjay Mehta was declared as lowest bidder but the allotment of the work was stalled by vested interests.
Even the former CM Omer Abdullah made public announcement that within one year he, himself will drive from Siot to Kalakote on double lane road added Mr Sharma.
For last two decades this road is in depleted conditions and the people are being made to suffer. Money worth crores have gone down the drain in the pockets for such vested interest making the people victims particularly those suffering ailments, students, farmers, small traders and employees.
Now again it has been entrusted to PMGSY for minor expansion and improvement which will not serve the purpose. This road connecting over two lac population, need Double Lanning and high quality maintenance for opening up of the area of Kalakote, Mogla and Khawas blocks, which is not expected from the PMGSY, further added DPAP leader.
Shri AK Mehta gave patient hearing to the delegation and assured to redress the grievance of the people. The delegation included BR Chandan ex AAG, Ab Majid Choudhary General Secretary, Zone Pir Panjal Balwan Kumar Sr. leader DPAP.
