| Congress condole over Adv Kalgotra's demise | |
Jammu, November 07 (Scoop News)- Senior Vice President JK Congress Mr Ravinder Sharma advocate , Shah Mohammed Chaudhary, Advocate Vice President JKPCC, K K Pangotra advocate, Chairman Congress Legal Cell and others have expressed profound grief and shock over the sad demise of prominent advocate of J&K High Court Shri Bachan Lal Kalgotra, who passed away last night
In a condolence message, they described Advocate Kalgotra as a great crusader against injustice, a philosopher and thinker , who always worked for fostering harmony & brotherhood amongst people of different faiths. He was a fearless voice against attempts at creating conflicts based on religion and was proud of the heterogeneous character of our nation & propagated humanity & secularism . He always spoke against the religious superstitions & advocated reforms in the society based on scientific approach & progressive thinking for a harmonious and peaceful co- existence.
Shri Kalgotra was a leftist but a true Nehruvian , who was a great admirer of first Prime Minister Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru. Shri Kalgotra was a social activist who fought for the rights of refugees and border people during his lifetime.
The senior leaders paid him rich tributes and said that his death has created a void in the society, difficult to be filled for a long time.
His cremation took place today afternoon at Shastri Nagar Jammu, which was attended by a number of Hon'ble judges of high court including large number of prominent lawyers & other walks of life.
