Justice Tashi Rabstan visits Leh district

Leh, May 14 (Scoop News)- Judge, High Court of J&K and Ladakh, Justice Tashi Rabstan is on a 3 day visit to Leh district.

Accompanying the Justice are Administrative Judge, Leh, Chairman, Mediation and Conciliation Committee, High Court of J&K and Ladakh and Chairman, Building Infrastructure Committee for Subordinate Courts of UT Ladakh.

On May 13, he presided over as the chief guest for the Plantation Drive organised by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Leh at the New Court Complex, Melong Thang, Leh. He also inspected the ongoing construction work and gave directions for early completion.

The plantation drive was also attended by Law Secretary, UT Ladakh, Michael M D’Souza and other officials of the legal field.

Further, Justice Tashi Rabstan also chaired a Legal Awareness Programme on Pre-Institution Mediation and Conciliation for members of different communities and organisations and individuals performing the work of mediation at the grass root level at Conference Hall, DC Office.

The awareness programme was organised by DLSA, Leh and present during the programme were officials, Presidents of various Religious organisations, Presidents of youth wings and women wings of the religious organisations. The resource persons for the awareness programme were Advocate Mohd Ramazn and Dr Tundup Tsewang.

Justice Tashi Rabstan talked about taking up mediation for resolution of all kinds of disputes, whether or not the matter is pending in court or not. He stressed upon the community members present on the occasion to conduct mediation taking into consideration the various ways and methods which is more effective and has long run effect. He also ensured the members of the community that a training program for the community level mediators will be conducted.

Additionally, the Justice inspected Bal Ashram and Nari Niketan at Leh along with District Commissioner, Santosh Sukhadeve, District Social Welfare Officer, Leh and Judicial Officers Of Leh district.

He reviewed the infrastructure of the buildings and reviewed other needs of the institute and directed the concerned officials for the immediate redressal.
