Defeat BJP designs to manipulate poll process: Bhardwaj | | Purmandal, May 21 (Scoop News)-Senior Congress leader and PCC general secretary Mr Mohinder Bhardwaj has asked the party workers particularly those associated with the booth level functioning and June 4 counting of votes for Lok Sabha elections, to remain vigilant and thwart any nefarious design of either the BJP or the ruling dispensation to manipulate the public mandate.
" There are reliable reports to suggest that a panicky ruling BJP staring at defeat in the Jammu Lok Sabha constituency is planning to usurp public mandate which is clearly in the favour of Congress. Stand up and unitedly fight against any effort to manipulate the electoral process. Remain vigilant till the last vote is counted," he asked the Congresspersons while addressing party leaders and workers of the area here today.
Mr Bhardwaj cautioned the Lt Governor's administration against allowing the BJP's nefarious designs to manipulate election outcomes to succeed. "Remain and act as an impartial umpire to uphold the sanctity of the electoral process. Take strict action under the law if anyone from the ruling party tried to indulge in malpractices," he said.
Mr Bhardwaj expressed serious concern on the failure of the administration and even the ruling BJP to address the problems being faced by the Purmandal and Khara-Mandana blocks due to intense heat waves. "The people are suffering due to shortage of drinking water and irregular power supply which has made life miserable for them in view of the rising temperature. The pathetic condition of the roads, despite tall claims of the administration and the BJP leadership on the development front, is further adding to the people's problems," he added.
The senior Congress leader said that the BJP has already lost the battle of perception by not fielding candidates from three Lok Sabha constituencies of Kashmir Valley. This is a precursor to the saffron party losing both Jammu and Udhampur-Kathua seats to Congress.
Among those who spoke on the occasion were Bashir Ahmed Former Sarpanch, Brij Pal Singh, Dr Rajesh, Nawab Din, Mangal Das, Harbans Singh, Mushi Ram Former Sarpanch, Gopal Singh, Kuldeep Sharma, Abdul Satar and Mohan Singh ... |
