| Government Polytechnic Jammu celebrate world Environment Day 2024 | |
Jammu,June 08 (Scoop News)-The NSS unit of Government Polytechnic Jammu in collaboration with Unnat Bharat Abhyan club organised a plantation derive in the college to celebrate the world Environment Day 2024. The Plantation Drive was carried out under the guidance of Er. Arun Bangotra, Principal of the college. While addressing the staff and students, he made them aware about how nature when protected and lived in harmony can lead to Sustainable Human Development. He further added that Plants eliminate the pollution and are beneficial for the health. Saplings of different indigenous ornamental, shade bearing, fruit bearing, medicinal and timber-yielding species were planted on the campus.
The drive was conducted under the supervision of Mr Amit Gupta Incharge UBA club and Mr Dheeraj Kumar, Program Officer NSS wing of the college. Others present on the occasion was Er Sukhdeep Singh HOD Civil, Er Raj Shekhar, HOD, Auto, Er Jasdeep Kaur, HOD, I&C, Er Manjeet Singh HOD Electrical, Mr Chamel Singh, PEM, Ms Toshi Devi, PET, Mehraj-ud-din, Lecturer MLT, Sh Harjinder Singh Architecture deptt, Mr Vinay Kumar, Instructor and NSS and UBA club students of the college. Er. Arun Bangotra appreciated the efforts of staff and students and also encouraged them to carry such drive in future also to increase the greenery in the campus. All staff of the college zestfully participated in the Plantation Drive. They also pledged their commitment towards creating awareness about conservation of nature by plantation of tress.
