Ten Days Yuva Kaushal Karyashala concludes at IIIM
Jammu, July 25 (Scoop News)-Ten days of Yuva Kaushal Karyashala on “Industrial Biotechnology”, “Medical Microbiology” and “Natural Products Chemistry” concluded here at CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu, wherein 150 students drawn from various colleges of Jammu & Udhampur participated with zeal and enthusiasm.



Dr. Zabeer Ahmed, Chairman, BioNEST Bioincubation Centre and Director, CSIR-IIIM, was the Chief Guest at the valedictory session. While speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ahmed congratulated the participants on the successful completion of the Yuva Kaushal Karyashala and appreciated the participants for their dedication and diligent excitement throughout the Karyashala. He emphasized on the importance of these karyashalas in providing job-oriented practical training, as well as raising scientific temperament among participants. He also said that these workshops also provide a flavour of research to young college students and may encourage them to take up research as a career. Such workshops and skilling courses are essential to achieve the goals of Viksit Bharat-2047, he added. Congratulating the Team IIIM-TBI for conducting 10 days long Yuva Kaushal Karyashala and Hackathon 4.0. Dr. Ahmed advised the budding entrepreneurs to be well-versed with the facilities available at CSIR-IIIM, Jammu.



During the Karyashala, 150 participants drawn from Govt College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, GGM Science College, Jammu and Govt. Degree College, Udhampur, underwent these 10 days trainings organised by BioNEST Bioincubation Centre under the aegis of CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu.



Earlier, Dr. Saurabh Saran, Principal Investigator, IIIM-TBI in his welcome address provided an overview of the workshop organized and informed the gathering about the initiatives taken by the IIIM incubator to support the skill development ecosystem in J&K. He further highlights on the importance of the workshop in Industrial Biotechnology, Medical Microbiology and Natural Products Chemistry. He said that the Yuva Kaushal Karyashala is concluded with the support of all the heads, scientists, research scholars of various labs of the institute.



Earlier, Hackathon 4.0 was organized at CSIR-IIIM, Jammu as the outcome of the 10 days long Yuva Kaushal Karyashala by IIIM-Technology Business Incubator. During the Hackathon, 4.0 pitching session, 37 groups comprising of 150 participants pitched their business ideas related to herbal drugs, herbal cosmetics, medicinal plants, aroma products and medicinal mushrooms. Based on the evaluation of the jury, top three business ideas were recognized and awarded as winners of Hackathon 4.0.



Pertinently, the Training programs were conducted under the patronage of Dr. Zabeer Ahmed, Director CSIR-IIIM and under the overall supervision of Er Abdul Rahim, Chief Scientist and Head, RMBD & IST Division.



Prominent others were also present Dr. Sumit Gandhi, HoD, ID Division, Dr. Naveed Qazi, HoD, NPMC Division, Dr. Ajay Kumar, Controller of Finance and Accounts, Sh. Dalip Kumar Gehlot, SPO, Dr. P P Singh, Dr. Prashant Mishra, Dr. Bhahwal Ali Shah, all Principal Scientists.



The proceeding of the valedictory session was conducted by Dr Saurabh Saran, while Er. Ankush Varma presented the formal vote of thanks
