Inaugural of the Semicon 2024 featured at IUST


Awantipora, September 11 (Scoop News)- Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Jammu and Kashmir, today participated in the inaugural event of SEMICON 2024 inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The university's involvement was coordinated by the Dean of Students in collaboration with the Departments of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) and Computer Science Engineering (CSE).

The session at IUST was chaired by Dr. Kaiser Giri, Dean of the School of Engineering and Technology and was attended by Dr. Rumaan Bashir, NEP Coordinator & I/C Controller of Examinations, Dr. Faroze Ahmad, Head of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Dr. Sajad Ahmad Lone, Head of the Department of CSE. The event underscored IUST’s commitment to advancing semiconductor technology and fostering innovation in engineering education.

IUST Hosts Extension Lecture by Alumnus

Under the aegis of the Alumni Connect Vertical of Dean Outreach, IUST, the Department of Economics, Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) is organizing extension lectures featuring alumnus, academicians and industry experts. In this week's event, Dr. Syed Gulzar, Assistant Professor at Symbiosis School of Management, delivered the lecture informing students of career opportunities, research spheres, scope of collaborations across disciplines among others. Prof. S. M. Shafi, Head Department of Economics, underscored the significance of such events, highlighting their role in expanding the academic and professional horizons of students and scholars. He emphasized the need for continued engagement with alumnus to inspire and guide current students.

The programme was attended by scholars, students and faculty including Dr Irfan Ahmad Sofi, Dr Mehak Majeed, Dr Shumaila Chisti, Dr Abdul Hamid Mir, Dr Showkat Ahmad Bhat and was coordinated by Dr. Javid Ahmad Khan.
