JK Bank officers organization (AIJKBOO) demands shift the governance of J&K bank from Home Ministry to Finance Ministry

Jammu, September 12 (Scoop News)- All India Jammu and Kashmir Bank Officers Organization (AIJKBOO) today demanded shifting the governance of J&K bank from Home Ministry to Finance Ministry.
In this connection AIJKBOO held a press conference addressed by office bearers of All India Jammu and Kashmir Bank Officers Organization along with Organizing Secy. Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh UT of J&K covering important issues of the bank.

Ashok Choudhary, Org. Secy. BMS endorsed the recent letter of AIJKBOO addressed to Prime Minister wherein AIJKBOO has requested the PM to shift the governance of J&K bank from Home Ministry to Finance Ministry so that uniformity in banking sector pan India may be seen. He told press reporters that strangely J&K Bank is the only exception in Banking Industry of India that it comes under Home Ministry due to which many progressive changes introduced by RBI and Department of Financial Services get delayed in the bank and so the time has come when J&K bank must be aligned alongside other banks of the country for timely implementation of reformatory and progressive circulars and directives of the supervisory bodies of banking sector like RBI and DFS.

Sh. Raghubir Jamwal, president AIJKBOO talked about the delay in implementation of settled wage revision in the bank. He informed that it is very serious concern that despite signing of 9th Joint memorandum and 12th Bipartite Agreement on 08th of March 2024 between bank unions and IBA at Mumbai, its implementation is still awaited anxiously in our bank which demoralizes and demotivates the hard working staff of bank and so AIJKBOO being responsible union of bank officers had represented to bank management, UT administration and Home Ministry but till date no positive outcome has been seen in the matter. He stated that settled wage revision has been implemented in all banks excluding J&K Bank which is matter of serious concern. He stressed for immediate implementation of subject wage revision in the bank wef 01 November 2022 by paying accrued arrears along with revised salaries to all employees of the bank including officers, clerical, subordinate and retired staff members of the bank.




Sh. Mukesh Kumar, General Secretary AIJKBOO addressed the media that Birthday of founder of J&K Bank Maharaja Hari Singh Ji was started being celebrated as “Maharaja Hari Singh Day” in the bank by AIJKBOO since 2021 and this year also the birth anniversary of the founder of J&K Bank, Maharaja Hari Singh Ji will be celebrated across the bank branches and offices throughout India on 23rd September.

He informed that in order to listen to grievances of staff of the bank and to discuss various issues confronting the employees of the bank, a General House Meeting of the employees of the bank including officers, clerical and subordinate staff along with retired staff members has been called at Kashmir Hill Resorts Patta Bohri Road, Paloura Jammu on Sunday, 15th September, 2024 at 12.00 noon
The others present in the press conference included Treasurer Sh. Vikas Khajuria and Sh. Subash Chander, Sh. Rakesh Sharma, Sh. Jasbir Singh, Sh. Vivek Jamwal and Sh. Sanjeev Gupta.
