World Suicide Prevention Day observed at ANMT Doda
Doda,September 12 (Scoop News)- An awareness event with an interactive session was conducted in the conference hall of ANMT School Doda to observe the World Suicide Prevention Day.

The event was organised by the District Health Society and graced by Chief Medical Officer, Dr Om Kumar and attended by Principal ANMT Anusuya Bhan, Mohammad Shafi Attu, Mohd Faheem Butt, Sanjeev Rana, staff of CMO/Dy. CMO Office besides students of ANMT Doda.

The programme, themed “Changing the narrative start the conversation” was aimed to raise awareness and educate students on the importance of mental health and suicide prevention.

The CMO, while interacting with the students, emphasized stress management and had an interactive session on the subject. The target audience was the students of the ANMT School Doda. The students discussed the issues troubling them.

The interactive session encouraged students to share their thoughts and concerns, providing a safe space for discussion.

There was a unanimous opinion that the stakeholders should follow National Suicide Prevention Strategy in letter and spirit which is based on WHO recommended model.

The event marked a significant step towards promoting mental health awareness and encouraging youngsters to prioritize their well-being.


Police foils illegal trade of counterfeit Gold Biscuits in Kupwara; 03 arrested

Srinagar, September 12 (Scoop News)-In a major breakthrough, Police in Kupwara successfully busted an illegal trade of counterfeit gold biscuits and arrested three accused persons involved in the commission of crime.

Acting on a tip-off, Police Station Lalpora launched a swift operation. leading to the arrest of three individuals suspected of being involved in the illicit trade. The arrested individuals have been identified as Bashir Ahmad Khan son of Fazal Rehman Khan, Rayaz Ahmad War son of Mohd Taseen War and Noor Mohd Lohar son of Rehmatullah Lohar, all residents of Dever Lolab, Kupwara.

During questioning, the suspected individuals confessed their involvement in the counterfeit gold trade. The police successfully recovered 153 counterfeit gold biscuits from their possession. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 61/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Lalpora. Further arrests are expected as the investigation is in progresses.
