UT level Poshan Mela-2024 held at Kargil | | Kargil,September 28 (Scoop News)- Director, Social & Tribal Welfare, UT Ladakh today organized UT Level Poshan Mela-2024 at Syed Mehdi Memorial Auditorium Hall where Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse was the chief guest.
The event was aimed to promote awareness about nutrition and health in the community featuring various workshops, demonstrations and informational sessions.
Besides the Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, the event was attended by Director, Social & Tribal Welfare Department, Tashi Dolma; District Programme Officer, Nargis Banoo; Chief Medical Officer, Kargil, Kacho Liyaqat Ali; other district officers, Anganwadi Workers, ASHA Workers, ANMs, and members of women related institutions.
The Deputy Commissioner inspected the stalls that showcased traditional foods, handicrafts, and products produced by women centres. Among the stalls were REWA Scholarship desk, ICDS Projects of Zanskar, Nubra, Kargil, Drass, Leh, Chiktan, Shargole, financial literacy desk by J&K Bank, PMMVY Special Registration Desk, NRLM, and Anganwadi equipment.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner lauded the efforts of the Anganwadi, ASHA and ANM workers who are doing their best in running the Anganwadi Centres and other health related services in remote areas like Zanskar and Changthang.
He further stated that Karsha Block of Zanskar was declared as Aspirational Block in Ladakh where all the indicators were achieved fully for which the credit goes to the Anganwadi, ASHA and ANM workers and their departmental heads.
Speaking to the gathering, the Director, Tashi Dolma informed that the Department had developed two winter-friendly Anganwadi Centres in Leh as a pilot project which remained successful. Accordingly, the Department has decided to construct 15 more winter-friendly Anganwadi Centres each in both Leh and Kargil district.
She further emphasized and requested the CMO Kargil to collaborate with the Anganwadi workers to conduct testing of Anemia among children in the district on need basis.
She lauded the effort of Anganwadi, ASHA and ANM workers who are taking care of children from the period of conceiving upto the age of six years. She informed that the ASHA workers are already getting free recharge adding they will additionally get new smartphones to perform their duties effectively. ... |
