| Discussion held between CEC Tashi Gyalson and Delegation from Traditional Archery Society of India | |
Leh,October 16 (Scoop News)-Hon’ble Chairman/CEC Adv. Tashi Gyalson, LAHDC Leh was called upon by a delegation from the Traditional Archery Society of India led by former CEC ,Patron Rigzin Spalbar, with President Tsering Angchuk and other executive members.
The delegation had returned from the World Nomad Games held in Astana, Kazakhstan, where they represented India in traditional archery competitions. During the meeting, they shared their experiences and insights from the event, emphasizing the need to preserve and promote the rich tradition of archery in India and in Ladakh.
Key discussions included the need to take proactive measures to prevent the decline of this cultural heritage. The delegation highlighted the importance of developing proper archery infrastructure, including the establishment of a dedicated archery stadium at the UT level. This facility would not only accommodate local events but also enable the hosting of national and international competitions.
The delegation also held a discussion that, much like Kazakhstan, Ladakh also has the potential to become a hub for traditional archers, linking sports, culture, tourism, and tradition. They urged the council to support the development of these initiatives, which could significantly contribute to the region's cultural identity and economic growth.
H’CEC assured the delegation of its support and willingness to enhance the archery infrastructure in Ladakh. The council will assist in taking necessary steps to promote this traditional sport, ensuring its vibrant future in the region
