APSCC asks CM to take BJP on board in government

Srinagar, October 19 (Scoop News)-The All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) has asked Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to take Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) on board in the government and include them in the functioning of the day to day affairs of the union territory. The committee has said that this will ensure holistic development of Jammu & Kashmir.
In a statement APSCC Chairman Jagmohan Singh Raina said that it is important that people of Jammu don't feel neglected in the day to day working of the government. He said that since people of Jammu had voted for BJP in the recent assembly elections it is important that due representation is given to the BJP members in the government.
"There is no denying the fact while National Conference got unprecedented mandate from Kashmir the BJP managed to sweep the elections in Jammu region. As such the people of Jammu have every right to have their own people in the government. The same is possible when BJP is a part and parcel of the union territory government," said Raina.
The APSCC Chairman said that Omar should demonstrate magnanimity and take the legislators of BJP in the governance of Jammu & Kashmir. He said that as such people of Jammu should not feel deprived and they will come up as active partners in the government of the union territory.
"As on date the picture is not rosy and the mandate delivered in the recent elections seems to be polarized one. Jammu & Kashmir has always been considered to be an epitome of secularism, brotherhood and compassion and the same needs to be carried forward by the people at helm," said Raina.
The APSCC Chairman said that inclusion of BJP in the government will ensure that there is no dearth of funds from the central government. He said that since the central funding holds key to the development projects it is important to include the party in the government that is running the show at New Delhi.
The APSCC Chairman has said that over the past 40 years or so the unemployment has assumed alarming proportions in Jammu & Kashmir and no government has given a serious thought in solving this glaring problem confronting the youth. He said Omar should take all the people along so that Jammu & Kashmir traverses on the path of peace, progress and development.
Raina said that the new union territory government should look into the demands of the Sikh community. He said time has come when all the issues confronting the Sikh community are looked into and the same are resolved in a time bound manner.
