BKS holds Seminar cum 2 Day Folk Dance Festival | |  Jammu, October 28 (Scoop News)- Bhartiya Kala Sangam,Jammu today held Seminar cum two day Folk Festival at Govt High School Raipur Satwari, Jammu under the CFPGS Section of Ministery of Culture, Govt of India, New Delhi in which large number of art lovers and distinguished citizens attended the event. In this program, galaxy of Guests graced the occasion in which Sh.Vikram Randhawa, MLA was Chief Guest. Besides ,T.R. Sharma, KAS (Retd), Chairman, Vaishno Devi, President and Ramesh Singh Chib, Director, Bhartiya Kala Sangam were also present there. While welcoming the guests and distinguished audience, T.R. Sharma gave a brief account of various cultural activities undertaken by BKS since its inception from 1980 He apprised that numerous events with regard to art, culture and languages have been held in Jammu and Kashmir involving various categories of artists. He said that the platform of BKS is always open for the artists where they can showcase their talent at various platforms including the plateform of Bhartiya Kala Sangam. The program started with paper reading by eminent writers which was followed by mesmerising Folk Dances based on Dogri Folk songs by besides who performed Massade and Phumanian on stage were Ashok Kumar & Party and Atul Dogra and Party,which enthralled the audience. While addressing the audience Vikram Randhawa commended the efforts of BKS to showcase such a beautiful program for keeping the folk of Dogra region alive amongst the young generation .He expressed his happiness to watch the show and reiterated that dogra folk culture is rich enough to attract the audience. In the end, artists, writers, various distinguished guests were also felicitated for their immense contribution in the line. The program was ably conducted by Rajni Anubhav, renowned Anchor and vote of thanks presented by Ramesh Singh Chib, Director BKS. Expressing his thanks to Ministry of Culture Govt of India New Delhi, he said that this program was only possible with support to hold the program.
MY Bharat (Nehru Yuva Kendra) Udhampur organized Cleanliness Drive in Market as part of “Diwali with MY Bharat”:
Nehru Yuva Kendra Udhampur, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. Of India organized cleanliness drive in main market of Udhampur Town. Hundreds of volunteers belonging to NYKS and NSS participated in the campaign which was flagged off by Sh. Jitendra Vermani (President, Beopar Mandal, Udhampur) in presence of Sh. Rahul Magotra and other members of the organization. The officials of Municipal Council also accompanied the cleanliness drive represented by Sh. Sunil Kumar (Sanitary Inspector). The volunteers started the campaign from Jagriti Old Age Home, Udhampur and took it towards District Hospital, Post Office and Slathia Chowk. Amid the slogans, Swachhta Hi Seva Hai, Ye Diwali Mera Yuva Bharat Ke Sath and Bharat Mata Ki Jai, the volunteers took pledge to keep their surroundings clean and green.
On the occasion, District Youth Officer, Khushal Gupta briefed that the campaign will promote volunteerism among the youth and also urged the youth to join MY Bharat and work for Viksit Bharat by 2024. Sh. Jitendra Vermani (President Beopar Mandal, Udhampur) appreciated the efforts of MY Bharat for orienting the youth in Nation Building activities and extended all possible support to the organization in such activities. Prof. Gurpreet Kour (NSS PO, GDC Udhampur) also accompanied the campaign along with Prof. Sanjeet Singh. They also led the Swachhta campaign in Jagriti Old Age Home and Bal Ashram. The Cleanliness Drive culminated back near Head Post Office, Udhampur where more than 100 Kgs of waste was handed over to Municipal Authorities for its proper disposal.
