Observer for 1-Ladakh Parliamentary Constituency, Padma Angmo visits Kargil
for 3-day review of electoral roll


Kargil, November 08 (Scoop News)-Observer for 1-Ladakh Parliamentary Constituency, Padma Angmo today visited Kargil district for a three-day review relating to the Special Summary Revision of Electoral Roll with reference to January, 01, 2025as the qualifying date.

The visit is aimed to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the ongoing Special Summary Revision (SSR) program, a crucial part of the electoral preparation to ensure an accurate and up-to-date voter list.

During her visit, Padma Angmo inspected some polling stations, namely PS Baroo, PS Langkhore, and PS Goma Kargil, among others.

Accompanied by the election team, she conducted thorough inspections at each polling station to observe operations and assess voter awareness and engagement levels.

Padma Angmo engaged with the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) responsible for managing electoral roll data at the grassroots level.

Through these interactions, she reviewed the progress made by BLOs in their assigned roles, provided guidance, and addressed many challenges faced in updating voter details.

The BLOs shared insights into the local population’s electoral participation and specific hurdles in voter registration and outreach.

A notable focus of Padma Angmo's visit was on interacting with students, identified as potential future voters. This interaction was aimed to promote electoral literacy among youth and encourage their participation in the democratic process. She emphasized the importance of voting as a civic duty and briefed students on the procedures and importance of enrolling as electors.

Her visit underscored the commitment to fostering transparency, accuracy, and inclusiveness in the electoral roll process. By engaging directly with field officials and prospective voters, she reinforced the efforts toward a fair and efficient electoral revision.
