CEC Tashi Gyalson chairs meeting to discuss the establishment of World First High Altitude Para Sports Centre


Leh, November 09 (Scoop News)-The Hon'ble Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), Adv. Tashi Gyalson, chaired a meeting at the Council Secretariat to discuss the establishment of World First High Altitude Para Sports Centre and partnering with Aditya Mehta Foundation through an MoU.

A detailed discussion held on the Draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to be signed between LAHDC, Leh and the Aditya Mehta Foundation for the training of specially abled person to prepare them for the 2028 Paralympics.

The Hon’ble Councilors Lobzang Sherab, Tundup Norboo, Mirza Hussain; ACR, Leh Shabir Hussain; District Social Welfare Officer, Leh; Tehsildar, Leh; Chief Education Officer, Leh; District Youth Services and Sports, Leh; Principal Chuchot Yokma Inclusive Education School; Presidents of Munsel, Rewa, and PAGIR society and officials from the Aditya Mehta Foundation were present in the meeting.

The Hon'ble CEC stated that it is historic and very significant step towards supporting differently abled person in Ladakh, aiming to nurture their talents and providing them with World class facilities to prepare for 2028 Paralympic.

He also announced that a committee would be formed for effectively carrying forward the vision and mission to represent in Paralympic and to monitor overall development of the sports and infrastructure.
