DCPU Jammu organises Aadhaar enrollment camp for street children

Jammu, November 09 (Scoop News)-District Child Protection Officer Mamta Rajput organised an Aadhaar enrollment camp at the Shelter Home for Boys in Trikuta Nagar, registering 30 children living in street situations. The registered children, previously engaged in begging, rag-picking and child labour, are now set to receive formal education and welfare services.

Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya, the District Child Protection Unit has been working to rehabilitate vulnerable children by connecting them to essential government resources. The Aadhaar registration not only provides these children with a formal identity but also enables future access to various welfare programmes offered by the Government of India.

The district administration is already supporting around 80 children in Jammu by providing them with school education, uniforms, meals and transportation, facilitating their vital education. The district administration’s ongoing mission is to bring more children from similar backgrounds into mainstream education, contributing to their overall rehabilitation and development.
