CEC Tashi Gyalson attends New District Committee consultation meeting at Khaltsi


Leh, November19 (Scoop News)-The Hon’ble Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson attended New District Committee consultation meeting to discuss matters related to the establishment of the New Sham District.

The Committee is chaired by Pramod Kumar Jain, IAS (Retd.), with members Kacho Asfandyar Khan, IAS (Retd.), and Tsering Angchuk, IAS (Retd.), and ex-officio member Deputy Commissioner Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve, IAS.

The meeting was also attended by Hon’ble Councillors from the Sham region, including Lobzang Sherab, Smanla Norboo, Morup Dorjey, Tashi Tundup, and Lundup Dorjey, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Khaltsi, Mohd Sharief, SDM Likir, Sajjad Hussain, President of the LBA Sham Region, Tsering Nurboo, President of the Nambardar Association Sham, Tsewang Stobdan, President of the Women's Wing, LBA Sham, Tsering Tsomo, and nambardars and representatives of various villages.

During the meeting, the committee engaged in consultations with the Sham Coordination Committee, Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA) Sham Region, Nambardar Association Sham, and other stakeholders.

President of LBA Sham, Tsering Nurboo, expressed gratitude to the Committee members for their engagement and urged them to establish a fully functional district, headquarter at Khaltsi.

The Hon’ble Councillors and nambardars from various villages presented their concerns and suggestions to the New District Committee.

The public representatives also submitted a detailed memorandum addressing various issues, including the establishment of the district headquarters; defining the boundaries of the new district; creation of new sub-divisions, tehsil, blocks, and naibats; rationalization of panchayat halqas, and revenue villages and establishment of administrative posts in the district etc.

The Committee gave a patient hearing to all demands and assured the public representatives that efforts would be made to address their concerns and ensure the establishment of the new district in a well-planned and efficient manner.
