GDC Samba Commemorates Anti-Corruption Day | | Jammu, December 09 (Scoop News)-Department of Economics, SPPND GDC Samba in collaboration with Anti Corruption Bureau, Jammu organized a debate competition on 'Different Forms of Corruption and Its Impact on Society to observe Anti Corruption Day. The event aimed at raising awareness among young students about corruption and its devastating effects on society, governance and economic growth. Principal of the College, Professor (Dr.) Twinkle Suri while addressing the young students quoted that the issue of corruption has plagued societies across the world, transcending borders, cultures and institutions. She further said that corruption undermines the very foundations of fairness, justice and progress that we all strive to uphold. She motivated the students to be change makers which the society needs. Davinder Singh Deputy Superintendent from Anti-Corruption Bureau while speaking on the occasion called for a transparent and accountable system which can be achieved by strengthening anti corruption agencies. Earlier various students participated in the debate competition. Ankita Hansa, Rohini and Shubham from semester 1 won first, second and third prize respectively. HOD Economics Dr Papinder Kumar welcomed the guests on the occasion and vote of thanks was delivered by Sonali Dutta, from Department of Economics. ... |
