IUST hosts Vritika Training and Skill Internship Programme, sponsored by DST, GoI


Awantipora, January 08 (Scoop News)- Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) is hosting a six-week Vritika Training and Skill Internship on "Techniques for Assessing Quality and Botanical Origin of Honey." This specialized program is sponsored by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, and is designed to enhance participants' proficiency in honey quality assessment.

The training program exposes participants to advanced methods of quality assessment of honey. Dr. Tariq Ahmad Ganaie, Head Department of Food Technology and Principal Investigator of the program, highlighted the critical importance of understanding honey's authenticity and tracing its botanical sources, a necessity in the increasingly health-conscious food industry. He also underscored the program's emphasis on aligning with global standards.

The Vritika Training and Skill Internship at IUST is expected to make a substantial impact by equipping participants with the skills needed to address contemporary challenges in the field of food technology, particularly in the niche area of honey quality assessment
