Senior journalist Ashwani Kumar bereaved
Media fraternity and others conveys condolences

Jammu/New Delhi, January 11 (Scoop News)-Senior journalist of Jammu and Kashmir and former bureau chief of AajTak in Jammu Ashwani Kumar lost his wife, Sunita Chandra, in New Delhi on Saturday (11 Jan.). Chandra breathed her last at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, on Saturday evening. She was 61. She is survived by Ashwani Kumar and their two daughters.

Suntia Chandra was unwell for last many months and was getting treated at the AIIMS. Chandra was a social worker and used to work with street children under the Pahal project of Damodar Sati Udyog Sanstha. She educated more than 2,000 children from the slum areas. These children were in Jammu from different parts of the country.

Last rites will be done in Jammu on Sunday, 12th January.


Meanwhile Journalists in J&K condoled the death of Suntia Chandra the wife of senior journalist Ashwani Kumar.

Other Senior journalists who condoled the death of Suntia Chandra included Yusaf Jameel, Imdad Saki,Tahir Mohi-UD-Din,Khalid Bashir, Altaf Hussain,Rehmatula Ronyal,Ramesh Bhan,Bashir Malik,Neeraj Romatra,Mohit Khandhari ,King C Bharti,Anil Bhat, Sanjeev Pargal, Rashid Rahi,Jeelani Jeelu,Khurshid wani,Mir Zameer , Faheem Tak,Mr. Suhail, Satish Verma,Vijay Malla,Javed Merab,Rajneesh Parihaan.They prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.

The Management of Press Club Jammu led by its president and journalists fraternity has expressed profound grief and shock on the untimely demise of Sunita Chandra ji.

Zoondab WhatsApp group members also condoled to Ashwani ji and entire family to bear this tragic loss and pray for peace to departed soul.

Kashmir Independent Press (KIP) and Scoop News express its deepest condolences to Chandra family and pray for eternal peace to the departed soul.
