| Police arrests 02 drug peddlers; Contraband substances recovered | |
Srinagar, January 17 (Scoop News)- Continuing its unwavering efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested 02 drug peddlers in Srinagar & Handwara and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In Srinagar, a police team of Police Station Soura at a checkpoint established at SKIMS Chowk Soura near Hospital Gate intercepted a suspicious person. During search, substantial quantity of contraband substance was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Rouf Ahmed Zargar son of Nazir Ahmed Zargar resident of Manigam Ganderbal.
In Handwara, a police team headed by SHO Police Station Kralgund at a checkpoint established at Resripora Kralgund intercepted a suspicious person identified as Danish Ahmad Mir son of Gh Hassan Mir resident of Kralgund. During search, 110 grams of contraband charas-like substance was recovered from his possession.
Both the drug peddlers have been arrested & cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and investigations have been initiated.
