JK Startup valued over $33 Million for Textile Transparency Tech

Jammu/Srinagar, January 23 (Scoop News)-In a significant milestone for India's craft sector, Dr. Babar Afzal and Dr. Henna Anjum, founders of Pashmina Goat Project (Startup), unveiled the cutting-edge framework that integrates Web 3.0, Blockchain, IoT and AI/ML for traceability and transparency in the textile value chain. Presented at the prestigious “GI & Beyond” conference, the startup has received a valuation by Nuevo Asia exceeding $33 Million in its pre-revenue stage for it’s Post-GI Technology being developed that will make the handicraft textile value chain transparent. The startup is being incubated under Govt. of India’s - Startup India Scheme and is building a transparency framework and a brand that addresses the systemic challenges of trust, quality and ownership in pashmina artisanal crafts while preserving heritage. Dr. Afzal was invited by Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh to present and discuss scaling the new innovative approach to over 30 endangered crafts in AP. Babar also presented his popular book “WISDOM of Shepherds for Individuals and Startups” to the CM. His work positions him at the forefront of redefining India’s luxury craft for the global stage especially handmade, sustainable, luxury pashmina. The integration of traditional industries with cutting-edge technologies creates an ecosystem where innovation thrives, artisans are empowered, and heritage is preserved. A celebrated change maker, Afzal is a Silicon Valley techie, an Ethical Hacker and an Ex-McKinsey Analyst who a decade ago chose to become a Shepherd. He has been profiled by TIME Magazine, BBC, Bloomberg, Nasdaq and has dedicated his life to understanding and breaking the Pashmina monopoly in favor of the original stakeholders (the shepherds, weavers, craftsmen and women across Himalayas). His work has been recognized for innovative approach to sustainable luxury, future tech, authentic branding, trust and artisan empowerment.
