BJP govt has always honoured Dr. Ambedkar: Sat Sharma

Srinagar/Jammu, March 28 (Scoop News)-Jammu and Kashmir BJP President, Sat Sharma CA, has stated that the Modi government's decision to declare April 14, the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, as a national holiday, reflects that the union government has real concern and respect for the architect of the Constitution of India.

Describing it as a testament to the government's deep respect and commitment to paying true homage to Baba Saheb, Sat Sharma CA, highlighted how this move reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dedication to recognizing and honouring the invaluable contributions of Dr. Ambedkar to the nation.

He was discussing the commendable decision of the Modi government to continue with its initiatives to honour Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, with the party leaders.

Sat Sharma CA emphasized that the Modi government has consistently demonstrated its reverence for Dr. Ambedkar through numerous initiatives, including the conceptualization of the term “Panchteerth.” Under this initiative, memorials have been constructed at five significant sites associated with the life of Dr. Ambedkar, including his birthplace, place of education, place where he embraced Buddhism, place where he attained nirvana, and the place where he lived and worked in Delhi.

Sat Sharma CA further pointed out that it was during the tenure of the V.P. Singh government, which was supported by the BJP from outside, efforts were made to persuade the ruling establishment to confer the Bharat Ratna upon Dr. Ambedkar posthumously. This historical recognition, Sharma noted, was a result of the BJP’s insistence on acknowledging the immense contributions of Dr. Ambedkar, who emerged as a champion of social justice, equality, and empowerment of the marginalized.

Expressing disappointment over the Congress party's approach, Sat Sharma CA, criticized its failure to honour Dr. Ambedkar appropriately despite their prolonged rule at the Centre. It is most unfortunate that the Congress, which ruled the nation for decades, did not show any sincere interest in honouring a great Indian of such high stature.

It was only under the Modi Government that genuine efforts have been made to give Dr. Ambedkar his rightful place in the nation's history, he said.

Sat Sharma reiterated that the Modi Government's decision to declare April 14 as a national holiday is a significant step towards giving due respect to Dr. Ambedkar and ensuring that future generations remain inspired by his ideals and vision.

BJP and SC morcha leaders Balbir Ram Rattan, Baldev Singh Billawaria, Vijay Anand Gill, Ashok Gandhi, Prof. Kulbhushan Mohtra, Hans Raj Loria and Waryam Singh were present in the meeting.
