Police organizes Thana Diwas/Lok Darbar to discuss New Criminal Laws in Handwara

Srinagar, April 03 (Scoop News)-Police in Handwara conducted Thana Diwas/Lok Darbar across all police establishments in the police district as part of its ongoing public outreach initiative. The program aimed to raise awareness and facilitate discussions on the new criminal laws, with a special focus on victim-centric and citizen-centric provisions.

The event witnessed active participation from community members, religious leaders, local representatives, and senior citizens, included Masjid Imams, Nambardars, respected elders, and other prominent citizens.

During the address, Police officers highlighted the key aspects of the new criminal laws, emphasizing how they prioritize justice for victims, safeguard citizens' rights, and ensure a more efficient and transparent legal process. Also urged the public to familiarize themselves with these laws and assured them that the police department is committed to fair implementation and public welfare.

Police reaffirmed its commitment to *public safety, victim support, and citizen-friendly policing, urging continued cooperation from the community in maintaining peace and justice.
