PSAJK mourns sad demise of Scholar Aga Syed Mohammad Baqir Al-Moosavi
Expresses Deep Sympathy And Solidarity: “His Passing Is An Irreparable Loss To The Community,” Says President G.N. Va


Srinagar, April 21 (Scoop News)-The Private Schools Association of Jammu and Kashmir (PSAJK) has expressed profound sorrow over the demise of esteemed religious scholar and highly respected figure of the community, Aga Syed Mohammad Baqir Al-Moosavi, who passed away at the age of 85 at his residence in Budgam, Kashmir.

Aga Syed Baqir was the father of PSAJK District Patron for Budgam and Chairman of Al Asma Educational Institute, Aga Syed Ahmad.

In a statement issued by PSAJK spokesperson Dr Syed Souleha, she said that a delegation led by PSAJK State President G.N. Var visited the bereaved family in Budgam to offer condolences and express solidarity with them during this difficult time.

PSAJK President, G.N. Var expressed profound sorrow over the passing of the renowned scholar, Aga Syed Mohammad Baqir. “We are deeply indebted to acknowledge Aga Syed Mohammad Baqir’s lifelong dedication to fostering religious education, promoting peace and unity within the community. His legacy will continue to inspire and guide generations to come.”

Var further said, “We pray that Allah (SWT) grants him the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and gives his family the strength to endure this immense loss.”

G.N. Var also extended his condolences to the bereaved family, says, “We stand in full solidarity with our colleague, Aga Syed Ahmed and offer our heartfelt condolences to the entire Baqir and Moosavi families during this time of great sorrow.”

Biography and Legacy: Born on 21 March 1940, Aga Syed Baqir began his religious education at Babul Ilm, Budgam. He later travelled to Najaf, Iraq, to study at the prestigious Hawza Ilmiyya, one of the foremost centers of Shia Islamic learning.

Following the demise of his father, Aga Syed Yusuf Al-Moosavi Al-Safavi, in 1982, he returned to Kashmir and assumed the role of a community guide and religious leader.

Aga Syed Baqir was fluent in Arabic, Persian and Kashmiri. Renowned for his good speeches and writings, he authored numerous books and articles on Islamic teachings, jurisprudence and history, significantly enriching Islamic scholarship in the region.

He tirelessly promoted inter-community harmony, social welfare and moral values throughout his life. In recognition of his efforts, he was honored with the prestigious Shaheed Murtaza Mutahhari Award for his contribution.

His leadership played a pivotal role in fostering unity and cooperation among diverse communities in Jammu and Kashmir.

The PSAJK executive body and general members extend their deepest condolences and heartfelt prayers to the bereaved family. The association has also pledged to uphold the values and legacy of scholars like Aga Syed Baqir by continuing its mission in education, peace and community service.
