| Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor met with the Chief Secretary | | 
Leh, April 23 (Scoop News)-Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson, met with the Chief Secretary of the UT Ladakh, Dr. Pawan Kotwal. They held a detailed discussion on the recent unprecedented Thunderstrom/Snow across the region. The CEC highlighted the extensive damage caused to standing crops, particularly apricot orchards, and the severe economic impact on the farming community. He also drew attention to the damage suffered by private properties, individual houses, and public infrastructure. In light of the losses faced by farmers, the CEC urged the Chief Secretary to declare the recent situation as a State Disaster, enabling timely compensation and support under disaster relief provisions. The Chief Secretary assured that the matter would be given due consideration. The meeting also covered various other issues concerning the district.
