Congress holds strong protest against terrorism, burn effigy of Pakistan in Jammu City



Jammu,April 23 (Scoop News)-JK Congress today held a strong protest demonstration at Shaeedi Chowk area of Jammu city against the yesterday's cowardly and barbaric attack on tourists in Pehalgam and burnt the effigy of Pakistan sponsoring terrorism on Indian soil.



Senior Congress leaders including youth Congress and Mahila workers held a strong protest demonstration raising slogans against terrorism and Pakistan, demanding befitting response to the dastardly incident perpetrated by the enemies of humanity.The angry protestors burnt the effigy of Pakistan and sent out a strong message of anger and anguish over the carnage and barbaric Act.



Led by JKPCC Working President & former Dy CM Tara Chand, the protest was joined by CWC special invitee Vikar Rasool Wani, Former MP Ch Lal Singh, Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, Former Minister Yogesh Sawhney, Incharge HQ Ved Mahajan District Presidents Jammu Urban & Rural Th Manmohan Singh and Th. Hari Singh Chib, Th Balbir Singh Ex MLA,DDC Sdr. T S Tony, Kanta Bhan, Narinder Gupta, Narinder Sharma, Vijay Sharma, Kapil Singh, Jatin Raina, Sahil Sharma, Neeraj Gupta, Sanjeev Sharma Panda, Rajveer Singh, Rajiv Saraf, Bhavishya Sudan, Suresh Dogra, Thomas Khokhar, Balbir Singh, Vijay Shastri, Dwarika Choudhary, Kamal Singh, Ricky Dalotra, Anirudh Sawhney, Pawan Dev Singh, Dewan Chand, Latish Sharma, Satpal Sapolia, R.P.Magotra, Bodh Raj Sharma, Bodh Raj Bhagat, Manish Bali, Manmohan Sharma, Rajesh Paul, Janak Raj, Ajay Kumar, Nageshwar Narayan, Sohit Sharma, Suman Wazir, R.K. Sodhi, Ghara Ram, H.S.Baggi, Rajesh Kumar, Surinder Mahajan, Magat Ram, Sahil Sagotra, Nasir Masih, Amit Kumar, Harvider Kour, Gagan, Vijay Singh Chib, Prabhu, Janak Raj, Anuradha Sharma, Parveen Akhtar, Anjali, Mehul Abrol, Sanjeev Kumar, Sony Sharma, Rohit Kumar, Bharat Sharma, Rinku Sharma, Vinod Kumar, Rahul Kumar, Sahil Dogra, Vijay Kumar and other prominent leaders besides agitated youth Congress and Mahila workers & a large number of agitated angry Congress leaders and workers held a strong demonstration against the gruesome incident and denounced terrorism and Pakistan.



Talking to media persons, JKPCC working President Tara Chand said that people have demonstrated that we are together in fight against terrorism and Pakistan. Such barbaric incidents are no longer tolerable on our soil. We are solidly behind our forces govt at this juncture to send a strong and befitting response to this .



Ch. Lal Singh two times MP and former minister hit hard the Pakistani and said that it was sponsoring terrorism which is no longer tolerable by countrymen any more and Government must do something to control the situation and Pakistan.



He also questioned how such a large number tourists and innocent people were left at the mercy of God at a secluded place .However at this juncture we expressed out strong solidarity with the victims and stand behind our forces to deal with the situation.



JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said that our appeal for peaceful bandh and the strong protest demonstration was a message of united and loud message of togetherness at this juncture against terrorism and Pakistan.



We are outraged and anguished over the dastardly act and people of all shades and walks of life are lodging strong protest and solidarity with the victims.



Our leadership Shri Malikarjun Kharge and LOP In Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi have spoken to the hone minister and expressed grave concern and anguish of nation and extended support to eliminate terrorism.



Our heart goes to those who lost their kith and kins and we are with them in hour of pain and shock.



A befitting and appropriate response is expected from the government, he added stating it's not time to play politics but how such an incident happened is unimaginable .



Several senior Congress leaders spoke on the occasion and expressed their anger and anguish.



Agitated youth Congress raised slogans against terrorism and Pakistan and expressed concern and anger over the happening of incident where large number of tourists were visiting daily. They burnt effigy of Pakistan and denounced her for sponsoring terrorism on Indian soil.
