| District NCORD Committee discusses anti-drug measures in Kathua | | Kathua, April 25 (Scoop News)- Additional Deputy Commissioner Vishavjeet Singh today chaired a meeting of the District Level Committee under the Narco Coordination Centre (NCORD) to discuss and review measures aimed at curbing drug abuse and the narcotics trade in the district.
During the meeting, extensive deliberations were held on issues pertaining to drug addiction, identification of areas of concern, and hotspots of drug abuse. Besides, measures undertaken by law enforcement agencies to combat this menace were thoroughly examined.
The ADC emphasis on creating awareness against drug abuse and sharing success stories of drug de-addiction. He also directs to identify the persons indulged in drug peddling so that appropriate and timely action can be taken against them.
The Chief Education Officer was tasked with launching an extensive awareness campaign in schools to educate students about the perils of drug abuse.
Among others, SDM Hiranagar, ACD Kathua, CMO, CEO, DSWO Kathua, Dy. SP Hqrs Kathua, Officers from BSF and other departments were also present.
