| Full-Dress Rehearsals Held at Kargil Ahead of Republic Day Celebrations | | 
Kargil,January 24 (Scoop News)-In the run-up to the upcoming Republic Day celebrations, a full-dress rehearsal was held with enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at Khri Sultan Cho Sports Stadium Kargil today.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, Imteeaz Kacho, unfurled the tricolour, inspected the parade, and took the salute during the march-past. The march-past was presented by male and female contingents of the Police, Ex-Servicemen, students from various schools of Kargil and the Ladakh Police band party showcasing discipline, coordination and national pride.
Joint Director (Finance), Iftikhar Hussain; Additional Superintendent of Police, Ishtyaq Kacho; Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Liyaqat Ali Khan; Chief Horticulture Officer, Ali Raza; Chief Education Officer, Sonam Wangchuk; Executive Engineer, R&B-II, Mansoor Hussain; Assistant Director, Tourism, Mohd. Ali Tak were present besides other officers and officials.
Meanwhile, students from different schools of Kargil and local cultural groups presented a vibrant cultural programme featuring patriotic songs, Ladakhi traditional songs and other performances, adding colour and cultural richness to the rehearsal.
While addressing the gathering, ADC Imteeaz Kacho said that the occasion reflects the spirit of unity in diversity and reinforces the collective resolve to build a strong and robust nation filled with love, harmony and diversity. He extended his best wishes for good health and prosperity to all residents of Kargil.
As a part of the nationwide celebrations marking 150 Years of the National Song “Vande Mataram,” students also participated in special performances, at the same venue, dedicated to the to the iconic song, highlighting its historical and patriotic significance. ... |
