| BJP SC Morcha to commemorate 649th Guru Ravidas Jayanti with week-long programmes across J&K | | 
Jammu, January 28 (Scoop News)-The SC Morcha of the Jammu & Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will commemorate the 649th birth anniversary of the revered Sant Shiromani Sri Guru Ravidas Ji with great fervor, devotion, and public participation on February 6, 2026, through a series of well-planned and meaningful programmes from 31st January to 7th February across the Union Territory.
This was announced by SC Morcha President and DDC Member Dharminder Kumar while addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu. He was accompanied by Morcha Vice-President Raj Kumar Bhagat, General Secretaries Mohinder Bhagat and Seema Devi, Secretary DDC Vidhya Motan, IT In-charge Sumit Kumar, and Media In-charge R.L. Kaith.
Highlighting the significance of the occasion, Dharminder Kumar said that Guru Ravidas Ji was a towering spiritual and social reformer whose teachings continue to inspire generations. He informed that BJP SC Morcha will organize a series of programmes starting from 31st January to 7th February as Shri Guru Ravidas Jayanti Saptah 2026.
As per the programme framework, the celebrations will include social awareness initiatives, community outreach activities, collective prayers, and discussions on Guru Ravidas Ji’s philosophy, aimed at strengthening social cohesion and reinforcing the message of equality and brotherhood in society.
“Guru Ravidas Ji dedicated his life to the ideals of social equality, human dignity, harmony, and unity. He fearlessly challenged social discrimination and gave voice to the marginalized through his words, actions, and devotion,” he said.
Dharminder Kumar urged people from all sections of society to actively participate in the celebrations and draw inspiration from Guru Ravidas Ji’s timeless teachings. He said that the BJP-led government remains firmly committed to the vision of inclusive development, social justice, and empowerment, values deeply rooted in the philosophy of Guru Ravidas Ji.
Dharminder Kumar informed that a dedicated organizing team has been constituted to ensure smooth and impactful celebrations. The team will be led by Vice-President Karan Attri as Convenor, with vice-president Dr. Gharu Sanehi, secretaries Jagveer Dass, and Adv. Nidhi Mangotra, Treasurer Yashpal Shivgotra, and SC Morcha SWC Member Manohar Lal Meenia playing key roles in coordination and execution.
He emphasized that the event will not only be a tribute to a great saint but also a collective reaffirmation of the resolve to build a just, harmonious, and united society.
