Goa Chief Minister will inaugurate SJFI national council meet
New Delhi,February 17 (Scoop News)-The national executive committee of the Senior Journalists Federation of India (SJFI), held at Google platform on February 15, took stock of the preparations for the National Council meeting to be held in Goa on March 14 and 15.

The reception committee has made elaborate arrangements for the successful conduct of the meeting, the first to be held after the formation of the SJFI at Thiruvananthapuram in August last year. Around 60 members of the 79-member National Council, elected in the 2025 national conference, have confirmed their participation in the meeting. The participants are from all parts of India and represent more than a dozen states including Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab & Haryana, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Assam, Bengal, Odisha, Andhra, Telangana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh,Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Goa, etc. In addition, a few more special invitees also will attend the meeting.

The two-day programmes will be inaugurated by Goa Chief Minister, Sri. Pramod Sawant, and the Union Minister from Goa, Sri. Sripad Maik, will attend the opening function as guest of honour. A seminar on social security for senior journalists in India will be addressed by Sri Deepak Bandekar, Director of Public Relations, Government of Goa, Rajtilak Naik, president of Goa Journalists Union, Sandeep Dikshit, president of SJFI, Gurudas Sawal, senior journalist from Goa, and others.

A souvenir, brought out in connection with the national conference in Thiruvananthapuram, will also be released on the occasion. National council member Subhash Naik, who briefed the meeting on the programmes, also said that a tour of historic sites of Goa Old City is being arranged for the visitors in association with Goa’s Tourism Department.

The one-hour meeting was presided over by SJFI president Sandeep Dikshit. Secretary general N P Chekkuty presented a report. The following members took part in the discussions:
