Sat Sharma reviews week-long Guru Ravidas Jayanti programmes
lauds Morcha efforts


Jammu, February 17 (Scoop News)-Sat Sharma, President, Jammu & Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), addressed an organizational meeting of senior party leaders at the party headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, to review the recently concluded week-long programmes commemorating the 649th birth anniversary of Guru Ravidas.

The meeting was attended by J&K BJP Vice-Presidents Rakesh Mahajan, Rekha Mahajan, and Rashpaul Verma, General Secretary Baldev Singh Billawaria, senior leaders S. Varinderjit Singh and Adv. Vibodh Gupta, Secretary Arun Sharma, Media Incharge Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, SC Morcha President Dharminder Kumar, Kissan Morcha President Rakesh Pant, party spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan, and other senior functionaries.

During the meeting, Sat Sharma sought a detailed report on the series of programmes organized across the region from SC Morcha President Dharminder Kumar and Balbir Ram Rattan, who also represents prominent national and international organizations dedicated to promoting the life and teachings of Guru Ravidas.

Expressing satisfaction over the successful conduct of the programmes, Sat Sharma said that it is a matter of pride for every BJP activist that under the leadership of Narendra Modi, the Government of India has consistently honoured revered saints and social reformers from various communities by celebrating their message of universal brotherhood, equality, and social harmony.

Sat Sharma highlighted that during the commemorative period, the Prime Minister dedicated the Aadampur Airport to Guru Ravidas. He further informed that a grand temple dedicated to Guru Ravidas, being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 102 crore in Sagar district, Madhya Pradesh, had its foundation stone laid by the Prime Minister. Additionally, in his parliamentary constituency, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for the development project at Seer Govardhanpur, the Janmsthali (birthplace) of Guru Ravidas.

Presenting a comprehensive review, Dharminder Kumar stated that a total of 112 programmes were organized across the Jammu region. These included 40 Swachhta and Deep-Utsav programmes, 42 floral tribute ceremonies and ‘Sant Samman’ events, and 30 seminars and meetings aimed at disseminating the teachings and social message of Guru Ravidas. He added that several other programmes were also conducted at district and mandal levels by Morcha activists.

Balbir Ram Rattan, while supplementing the report, remarked that it is for the first time in independent India’s history that a government at the Centre has extended such extensive respect and recognition to Guru Ravidas. He said this has conveyed a clear message to the community that the BJP leadership is firmly committed to promoting the teachings and egalitarian ideals of the revered saint.
