| Department of Horticulture Nubra Organises Training on Pruning and Pest Management | |
Nubra, February 24 (Scoop News)-The Department of Horticulture, Nubra Sub Division, on Tuesday organised a one-day awareness-cum-training programme on pruning and pest management for progressive orchardists of Tyakshi-A, Tyakshi-B, Kharponthang and adjoining villages.
Around 40 farmers participated in the programme, which was conducted in the presence of Shri Hamidullah, Horticulture Technician Grade-I.
During the session, practical demonstrations on scientific pruning techniques were carried out to enhance the participants’ understanding of proper orchard management practices. The farmers were also provided guidance on effective pest management measures to protect crops and improve yield.
Horticultural tools were distributed among the orchardists to facilitate the effective implementation of the demonstrated techniques in their respective orchards.
The participating farmers appreciated the Department for organising the informative and well-coordinated training programme.
The initiative forms part of the Department’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the knowledge and technical skills of local farmers. By promoting the adoption of modern horticultural practices, the programme aims to enhance agricultural productivity, increase farmers’ income and contribute to the overall economic development of the region.
