Ragini Rainu awarded AARYA Global Achievers Award 2026 on International Women’s Day


Odisha ,March 08 (Scoop News)-Parichay Foundation (Odisha) Marked the International Women’s Day Celebrations with a grand function held at the Constitution Club of India New Delhi presenting the the 2nd Edition of AARYA Global Achievers Awards 2026 to 17 distinguished women achievers from across the country for their outstanding contributions across diverse fields, including art, culture, media, social service, entrepreneurship, and public service, celebrating excellence and impact across sectors.


Ragini Rainu, the eminent Sufi and Bhakti singer of India received the AARYA Global Achievers Award 2026 for her outstanding contribution in the field of art and culture. The award was presented to her by Padma Shri Guru Shovana Narayan, Padma Shri Ranjana Gauhar, Padma Shri Guru Madhavi Mudgal, Priyadarshi Mishra and Dr. Rosalin Patnaik Mishra.


A beacon of the Sopori Sufiana Gharana of Kashmir, Ragini is a disciple of the Great Saint Music Legend of India late Pandit Bhajan Sopori ji, who was hailed as the ‘Saint of Santoor’ and the ‘King of Strings’. Known for her effortless singing and mastery over structured Sufi ang, as well as the Ghazal and poetic Kafi genres, Ragini is the rightful heir to the legacy of Bhakti and Sufi music of India for which she is acclaimed as the Mystic Songstress and the Sufi Diva.


The function was attended by eminent guests including Sunil Deodhar (Former BJP National Secretary), Shyam Jaju (Former National Vice President of the Bharatiya Janata Party), Dr. Aparna Sopori (Eminent Educationist), Music Maestro Pt. Abhay Rustum Sopori, Dheeraj Pateriya (Senior BJP Leader), Dr. K. L Ganju (Consul General of Comoros) and Swami Shantiveerling Shivacharya, amongst others.


The event featured a special music performance by the young music legend of India Pandit Abhay Rustum Sopori, the custodian of the ancient Santoor tradition of India and Sopori Sufiana Gharana of Kashmir, who introduced a number of his disciples including Divyansh Srivastava and Aakash Daniel Brunner on Santoor, Chanchal Singh on Jodi and Poushali Dutta on Tanpura. He presented Raga Charukeshi commencing with Aalap and Jod followed by compositions in Ektaal and Teentaal in the essence of ‘Sopori Baaj’, the style created by Pandit Bhajan Sopori ji, highlighted deep Raagdari, Chhandkari, Layakari, Gayaki and Tantrakari Angs such as ‘Meend’, ‘Gamak’, ‘Glides’, ‘Taan’, ‘Bol’, ‘Chhand’ and ‘Laya’ patterns, Dhrupad Ang, etc. He was accompanied by eminent Tabla maestro Pt. Durjay Bhaumik on Tabla.


Dr. Rosalin Patasani Mishra, Founder & President of Parichay Foundation, extended her heartfelt wishes to all the dynamic and inspiring women who are a true source of motivation for the youth.
